Tips and useful information for Hamina-Asunnot residents
1. Make a change of address
When moving in or out, remember to file your change of address at least 2 weeks before the move. With one form, you’ll notify both Posti and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
2. Arrange your electricity and internet
Electricity is not included in the rent—you’ll need to make your own contract with an electricity provider. We recommend doing this at least a week before moving.
Your rent already includes broadband and cable TV. For more information, please check with Elisa.

3. Get home insurance
We strongly recommend home insurance—it’s the only protection for your belongings if something happens. Request quotes from different insurance companies and choose the one that fits you best. Make sure it starts from the day you move in.
4. Paying your rent
Rent is due on the 5th of every month. To make things easy, you can set up a recurring payment in your online bank or order an e-invoice.
5. House rules
Our house rules help make everyday life smooth and pleasant for everyone. Please read them carefully and follow them. Quiet hours are from 23:00 to 07:00. If you experience ongoing disturbances, you can file a report.

6. Resident guide
Our Resident Guide is a handy information bank. It covers your rights and responsibilities as a resident, as well as instructions for small home maintenance tasks. (Available in Finnish.)
7. Sorting waste
Sorting your waste properly is good for both the environment and our community. Each property has bins for paper, cardboard, glass, metal, biowaste, plastic packaging, and mixed waste. For up-to-date instructions, visit Kymenlaakson Jäte.
8. Housing allowance
You might be entitled to housing allowance from Kela. Their website has a simple calculator to check your eligibility.
9. Taking care of your home
Keep your apartment fresh and comfortable by vacuuming and dusting regularly. Clean the floor drains and range hood filter from time to time too. (See the Resident Guide for details, available in Finnish.)
